The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten

As is customary in our culture, people are always looking for the best deal when considering where to spend their money. This is understandable and I am guilty of this myself when it comes to certain purchases.

When shopping for tattoo work I personally do not take the price into consideration. To me, The work I want is worth whatever the artist is charging and the only decision I have to make is when I want to get tattooed and how much of it I can afford at any one time.

With most things we buy, if it is poor quality, it can be returned or fixed up or in the worst case, we can get rid of it and buy a new one, which will obviously cost us more than we would have originally spent if we had just purchased the high quality item in the first place. With tattoos however, if the tattoo comes out poor quality due to the artist being inexperienced or inadequate which is usually the reason their price is lower, we are stuck with a poor quality tattoo for the rest of our lives, unless you get laser surgery which ends up being much more expensive than the tattoo was in the first place.

In conclusion, there are times when I’m willing to take some risk and save some money on something when the downside is that I might just have to replace it. Getting tattooed is not one of those times since the downside is having to look at a poorly done tattoo for the rest of my life. However much money I might save on a cheaper tattoo could in no way be worth the pain I’d have to endure from looking at that tattoo.

If you’re looking for a bargain, do it with a toaster or a blender. The money you do save on those items can be used for a good tattoo maybe.
